ETF Buzz

My favorite ETF reads over the past week, along with my ETF chart of the week!

Active Non-Transparent ETFs: What Are They Good For? by Ben Johnson

“These ANTs offer investors meaningful benefits over traditional actively managed mutual funds. They also differ from conventional ETFs in nuanced but important ways.”

A Fool And His Money (A $TVIX Tale) by Dave Nadig

“The Pink market (or just the Pinks), is the wild west. De-listed ETFs and ETNs tend to go right to the Pinks, as TVIX did here.”

Wells Fargo Plans to Offer Its First ETF by Bernice Napach

“The costs of ‘not’ being in the ETF market apparently now outweigh the costs of being in it (those costs including self-cannibalization).”

ETF Chart of the Week:  Stock ETFs with a greater concentration of holdings are seeing an uptick in interest.  Given the volatile market conditions this year, investors are likely looking to higher concentration ETFs as a way to capitalize on an investment thesis (like a rebound in airline stocks) and still have some level of diversification.
